Question 206708: Quadratic Growth:
Suppose instead that the town experiences quadratic growth of the form P=8t^2+Po where t is the time in years from 2010.
a) Insert the valu8e of Po that your group has decided upon inot the equation. Use t^2 to type t-squared.
I decided to use 40 to substitute for Po. I think that my equation should look like this P=8t^2+40 I hope that this part i got it right. my other question is part of this equation.
c) Use your equation from part a to approximate how many years it will take for the population to reach 7,000. Round to the nearest whole year when neccessary. The only thing i know is that my equation should look like this 7000=8t^2+40 and thats all i know. I need help on how to go about this equation and still answer the question. Can someone please help me. I need someone to answer me A.S.A.P. I just want to say something the Po looks like a P with a 0 under and very little i hope i made myself clear and understandable.

Quadratic Growth:
Suppose instead that the town experiences quadratic growth of the form P=8t^2+Po where t is the time in years from 2010.
---
a) Insert the value of Po that your group has decided upon into the equation.

Your work is correct up to this point.
Now 8t^2+40 = 7000
8t^2 = 6960
t^2 = 870
t = 29.50
-------------------
Year the population will be 7000?
2010+29.5 is 2039.5
Rounded up the year will be 2040
