i assume you mean 64+=+2%5E%283x%29 rather than 64+=+%282%5E3%29x

If so, we have the variable (x) as a "power". To remove this, take logs. Since the base is 2, use this as your log base.

So, log64+=+log%282%5E%283x%29%29 where the logs are base2.

--> 6 = 3x
--> 2 = x
