Question 203029: Im suppose to combine like terms to form an eqivalent expression. the problem is: -16x + x
i cant figure out if the answer would be just -16x or if it would be -16x -x

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you started with:
-16x + x
Just combine the x's:
-16x + x = -15x
.
Another way to see it is to factor:
-16x + x
= x(-16 + 1)
= x(-15)
= -15x
