3a-5-2a=2a-3 I moved the 5 to the right side of the = sign
3a-2a=2a-3+5
1a=2a-2
-1a=-2 I divided both sides by a negative to create a positive a.
a=2 When I plug 2 in for a, I am not coming out w/ the problem being
equal on both sides of the = sign.
