Probalility ranges from 0 to 1,,,with 0 being impossible,,,,,and 1 as certainty

For ONE DICE,,, it is impossible to roll a 8,,,,,dice not labeled 8,,, therefore probability is 0 (zero)

if we have TWO DICE, total chances are 36,,,most books have a chart.

to roll an 8, we can (1) 6 & 2, (2) 5 & 3 , (3) 4 & 4, (4) 3 & 5 , (5) 2 & 6
.
Therefore to roll an 8,,,we have 5 chances out of 36,, or 5/36 = .139
