Question 19215: -10 = 8 - x/7
Answer by ashleygurl(2) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
it helps me to put the -10 on the other side of the equation ex: 8-x/7=-10
8-x/7=-10
subtract 8 from both sides.
-x/7=-18
multiply by the reciprocal which means multiply each side by 7 over 1 because you want to get x by itself so since your multiplying -18 by 7, you get -126. but that would leave -x=-126 and you need x by itself so you divide each side by -1 so it makes x positive and 126 positive.
x=126
