Solve the following equation for p
2/(5x)-4=7/(1-p)
:
- 4 =
multiply eq by the common denominator 5x(1-p)
5x(1-p)* - 4(5x(1-p) = 5x(1-p)*
cancel out the denominators and you have
2(1-p) - 20x(1-p) = 5x(7)
:
2 - 2p - 20x + 20px = 35x
:
-2p + 20px = 35x + 20x - 2
:
p(-2 + 20x) = 55x - 2
or
p(20x-2) = 55x - 2
:
divide both sides by (20x-2)
p =
