Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let x and y be the amount of soy bean mixture and cornmeal mixture respectively
:
x+y=350.............eq 1
.16x+.09y=.12(350)..eq 2
:
rewrite eq 1 to x=350-y and plug it into eq 2
:
.16(350-y)+.09y=42
:
56-.16y+.09y=42
:
-.07y=-14
:
pounds of cornmeal mix
:
x=350-ypounds of soy bean mix
