Question 173631: Take a look at the table below and write out an equation for f(x).

x: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2
f(x): -1, 1, 3, 5, 7

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Take a look at the table below and write out an equation for f(x).
x: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2
f(x): -1, 1, 3, 5, 7
---------------------------
Notice that f(s) increases 2 for every increase in one of x.
That tells you the slope is 2/1 = 2
-------------
Notice that when x = 0, f(x) = 3.
That tells you the intercept is 3
-----------------------
So the equation is f(x) = 2x + 3
