first thing you have to do is distribute the left side
:
of the equation. mult property of distribution states a(b+c)=ab+ac..so lets use this property
:
-7(a-8)=-7a+56
:
now subtract 56 from both sides
:
combine terms on right side
:
now divide both sides by -7
:
