Find two consecutive even integers whose sum is 286. What are the two integers?
x + x + 2 = 286
2x + 2 = 286
2x = 286 - 2
2x = 284
x = 284/2
x = 142
x + 2 = 142 + 2 = 144
Answer: 142, 144
