4(x+1)=2(x-3)-(1-2x)
The first thing you want to do is remove the parentheses using the distributive rule.
On the left side we have: 4(x + 1) = 4x + 4.
On the right side we have: 2(x-3)-(1-2x) = 2x - 6 - 1 + 2x.
We now have this equation:
4x + 4 = 2x - 6 - 1 + 2x.
We combine like terms and simplify, (if possible), to find x.
4x - 2x - 2x = -4 - 6 - 1
On the left side we get a zero.
LOOK:
4x - 2x -2x = 4x - 4x = 0.
We can stop right here and conclude that there is no solution for x in this equation as you typed it.

4x+4 = 2x-2*3-1+2x
4x+4 = 2x-6-1+2x
4x+4 = 4x-7
4x-4x = -7-4
0 = -11
Right hand side is zero
