You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x-7=3x+5
5X-3X=5+7
2X=12
X=12/2
X=6 Answer.
Proof:
5*6-7=3*6+5
30-7=18+5
23=23

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You need to combine like terms first.
Isolate a variable on one side.
5x-7 = 3x+5
In order to isolate the variable x on one side add 7 to both sides and subtract 3x from both sides.
5x-7 = 3x+5
-3x+7 = -3x+7
2x=12
Now you will divide both sides by 2
2x = 12
x=6
