Question 163330: A terrorist needs to mix some 2% acid. She has on hand 50 mL of a 1% solution and some 4% solution. How much of the 4% solution should she mix with the 50 mL of 1% solution to obtain the desired 2% solution?
I have done this problem but I would like to make sure that it is right. The equation I made out of this word problem is this:
.04x+.01(50)=.02(x+50)
answer I got was x=25mL
Could you please let me know if I did this right? If I didn't please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Here is the way to check your answer
(.01)(50)+.04(25)=(50+25)(0.02)
0.5+1=1.5
1.5=1.5
