5x+12x=340 Multiply each side by 20.
17x=340

(5X+4*3X)/20=17
(5X+12X)/20=17
17X=20*17
17X=340
X=340/17
X=20 ANSWER.
PROOF:
20/4+3*20/5=17
5+60/5=17
5+12=17
17=17
