- Find the remainder when 6x^6-17x^4+12x+26 is divided by (x+1)
If you know the Remainder Theorem find f(-1)
f(-1) = 6(-1)^6 - 17(-1)^4 + 12(-1) + 26
f(-1) = 6 -17 -12 + 26
f(-1) = 3

The Remainder is 3.

- If 18x^2+9x-2 is factor into (ax+b)(cx+d),what is ac-bd
18x^2+9x-2
= 18x^2 + 12x - 3x - 2
= 6x(3x+2) -(3x+2)
= (3x+2)(6x-1)
a = 3
b = 2
c = 6
d =-1
---------
ac-bd = 18 - -2 = 20
