Question 160198: How do you know when an equation has no solution?
Answer by Fombitz(32388)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your solution leads to a statement that doesn't make sense.
Let me use an example,

Subtract x from both sides.

That doesn't make sense and is not true.
There is no x (no solution) such that this equation holds.
Hope it helps.
