Y=concentration of pollutant #2=4X
X+Y=4.0
X+4X=4.0
5X=4.0
X=.8
Concentration of pollutant #1=0.8 ppm
Concentration of pollutant #2=3.2 ppm
Plug into the original equation
0.8+3.2=4.0 PPM
