Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
Apply the distributive property to both sides.
Did you remember to change the sign on the right side?
Add 11x to both sides.
Subtract 22 from both sides.
Divide both sides by 15.

Multiplication - a negative times a negative is a positive. a negative times a positive is a negative (in most instances!)
4(3+x)+10=-11(x-6)+1,
12+ 4x +10=-11x +66+1 (combine like terms)
4x +22= -11x+67 (move the x to the left of the equal sign)
4x +11x +22=11x-11x+ 67 (combine like terms)
15x +22 = 67
15x +22 -22= 67 -22 (simplify)
15x= 45 (divide to get x)
15x/15 = 45/15
x = 3
to check, substitute 3 for x
4(3+3) +10=-11(3-6) +1
4(6) +10=-11(-3)+1
24+10=33+1
34=34
* remember than when you do a true equation (with an equal sign), what ever you do to one side you need to do to the other side.
