Question 156485: x(x-3)=x
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x(x-3)=x
----------------
Divide by x
x-3 = 1
x = 4
That's one answer, but it overlooks another possibility, that x = 0.
To get both:
x^2-3x = x
x^2 -4x = 0
x(x-4) = 0
Now it's more obvious that x = 0 and x = 4.
