The tutor who answered this question for you interpreted it in the first way. However, since you did not have parentheses in the problem to indicate that 8-w is the numerator, it would normally be interpreted the second way, which I have solved below for you.

Multiply both sides of the equation by the LCD which is 10:





Divide both sides by -1:
