A coat costs $300. The original price was $450. What is the percent of the discount?
------------
Let the percent discount be "x".
EQUATION:
Original price - discount = Discounted price
450 - x(450) = 300
(1-x)450 = 300
1-x = 2/3
x = 1/3 = 0.33 = 33%
