Question 144068: What is the range for P(x) = x^2 + 5x + 6 < 0?
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2 + 5x + 6 < 0
(x+3)(x+2)=0 make an equality to begin.
x=-3, x=-2
Now graph x^2 + 5x + 6 (see below)
The minimum of the graph occurs when x=-2.5
(-2.5)^2+5*-2.5+6
=6.25-12.5+6
=-.25
The range is 0>y>=-.25
