1.7t - 1.62t - 0.4t = - 0.32 + 8 - 8
(1.7-1.62-0.4)t = - 0.32 + 0
(1.7-2.02)t = - 0.32
-0.32t = - 0.32

t=1
Proof: Subtitute t = 1 to equation:
1.7t + 8 - 1.62t = 0.4t - 0.32 + 8
1.7(1) + 8 - 1.62(1) = 0.4(1) - 0.32 + 8
1.7 + 8 - 1.62 = 0.4 - 0.32 + 8
9.7 - 1.62 = 8.4 - 0.32
8.08 = 8.08 (Q.E.D)
