Question 133865: what is 8-x =2x-1
Answer by snwbrdfrk(10)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
ok this is easy. the first thing you need to do is get your x's by itself so since the equation 8-x=2x-1 you need 2x and x together.
the first thing to do is either subtract both sides by 8 or add both sides by one. im going to add both sides by one. it should look like this.
1+8-x=2x
7-x=2x
now what we need to do is add both sides by x since it is negative. its just like we did with 1.
7=x+2x
7=3x
7/3=x
or 2.34
there you go
i hope i helped
