Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
THE BEST WAY TO SOLVE THESE TYPE OF PROBLEMS IS TO DRAW A SKETCH OF THE SHEET METAL WITH THE CORNERS CUT OUT & FOLDED.
YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE 26-2-2=22 IN. FOR ONE SIDE OF THE BASE.
YOU SHOULD HAVE 20-2-2=16 IN. FOR THE OTHER BASE MEASUREMENT.
YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE A HEIGHT OF 2 IN.
NOW MULTIPLY 22*16*2=704 IN^3 IS THE VOLUME OF THE BOX.
