Question 12693: 6d+1=15-d
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6d+1=15-d
Fisrt you need to get the d's on the same side, so you will do the opposite operation to make it 0. It is being subtracted, so the opposite of subtract is addition. So you will add d to both sides.
6d+1+d=15-d+d
You end up with:
7d+1=15
Now you want to get the integers on one side, so you do the opposite operation, it is being added, so you will subtract 1 from both sides.
7d+1-1=15-1
7d=14; now you want to get rid of the 7 so you have d by itself. To do that you need to do the opposite operation, which is divide 7.
d=2
Hope you get it!
