: 3x-y<(less than/or equal to)6
x>(greater than or equal to)1
y(less than or equal to)3
changing the signs to equal signs I get
3x-y=6
y=6+3x
the two other equations confuse me as to where I go now
This question is from textbook Beginning Algebra

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-y<(less than/or equal to)6
-------------
3x-y <= 6
Add "y" to both sides to get:
y + 6 >= 3x
Subtract 6 from both sides to get:
y >= 3x-6
----------------
If you want to graph the solution,
First: Graph the boundary whitch is y = 3x-6
Then, sense you also have a ">", shade the
half-plane above the boundary line.
----------
The line and the half-plane comprise the graph of
the original statement.
