-1 / (x + 1) = 2 / (x^2)
Cross-multiply
-x^2 = 2x+2
x^2+2x+2 = 0
x = [-2 +- sqrt(4-4*2)]/2
x = [-2 +- sqrt(-4)]/2
x = [-2 +- 2i]/2
x = -1 +- i
x = -1+i or x = -1-i
