what is the slope of a line containing points (2,-1) and (3,5)
Using the slope formula m =
x1 = 2
x2 = 3
y1 = -1
y2 = 5
m = =
m = 6 is the slope
Create the equation using y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y -(-1) = 6(x - 2)
y + 1 = 6x - 12
y = 6x -12 - 1
y = 6x -13
which is

The formula for the slope of a straight line passing through two given points    (,)    and    (,)    is

    m = .

In your case,  = 2,   = -1,   = 3,   = 5,

Substitute these values into the formula and calculate

    m =  =  = 6.
