Question 1205225: Most communities have a Sign Ordinance that limits the amount of signage that you use to advertise your business. Often this is computed by looking at factors such as highway frontage and size of your building.
Suppose that your sign is limited to 3600 square inches (width x height = 3600) . You want to build a sign that is aesthetically appealing to advertise your business. To be an aesthetically appealing sign you would want the width to be 2 times the height and you want the top and bottom margins to both be 4 inches each and the right and left margin to both be 12 inches each. The "Printable Region" would be the area inside these margins and this will be the area that you can use to advertise your business.

It was very interesting to read to the end.
But at the end, I did not find your question.
I am not sure, if you read, at all, what you post,
and if you do understand a reason, for which you do post to this forum . . .
There is such a conception in communication between people as mutual respect.
In this case, it means that you should post the problem in full, including your question.
In your post, I see good English, but do not see this "mutual respect",
which MUST be in place, especially when you come to ask for help.

One should, if too hard to visualize , draw the description and develop the area formula from that.
x for the height
2x for the width
of the whole sign piece
Each corner is ft*ft and there are four of them so all the rectangular corners make square feet.
(I chose units of feet; not inches.)
The sign's area limited to .
The whole sign, borders plus printable area
---------you can rationalize if desired.
You can figure out what to do about finding the printable region part.
This is not so much about the corners but the ENTIRE border region.
