I'll use the substitution method.
-4x + 9y = 9
-4( x ) + 9y = 9
-4( x ) + 9y = 9
-4( 3y-6 ) + 9y = 9 .... x replaced with 3y-6, valid because x = 3y-6

-4(3y) - 4(-6) + 9y = 9
-12y + 24 + 9y = 9
