Hi
The average speed of the plane driver's flight to the site was 160 mph,
and the average speed of the return trip was 120 mph
Find the distance of the round trip if the total flying time was 7 hr
D =rt ***Distance is the same to and from:
Let t be time at 120mph then (7-t) would be time at 160mph
 160(7-t) = 120t
   40t = 160
     t = 4hr, time at 120mph
  Distance = 4h * 120mph = 480mi

                SPEEDS          TIMES            DISTANCE

GOING TO          160           d/160              d

RETURN            120           d/120              d

TOTAL                            7

Solve for d, in .
