These pollen sources are categorized as​ grasses, weeds, and trees.
If the number of weeds is 5 less than the number of​ grasses,
and the number of trees is 2 more than the number of​ grasses,
find the number of​ grasses, weeds, and trees that are major pollen sources.

Grasses + weeds + trees = 62  sources.     (1)


Grasses = x

Weeds   = x-5

Trees   = x+2


Equation for the total sources

    x + (x-5) + (x+2) = 62


Simplify and find x

    x + x - 5 + x + 2 = 62

        3x            = 62 + 5 - 2

        3x            = 65

         x            = 65/3 = 21 .


But x must be an integer numbers.


Since the problems produces non-integer answer, it has no solution/solutions in integer numbers.


ANSWER.  The problem has no solution/solutions in integer numbers.

Hence, the problem is DEFECTIVE.

In other words, it is a FAKE.
