Since the answer to the problem is a number of baskets, I would work the problem in terms of number of baskets rather than number of points.

Currently she has 94/2=47 baskets in 6 games.

She wants an average of at least 16/2=8 baskets per game after the next 6 games -- i.e., after a total of 12 games. That means 12*8=96 baskets in the 12 games.

Let x be the number of baskets she shoots in the next 6 games (which is the number the question asks for). Then

47+x >= 96
x >= 96-47
x >= 49

ANSWER: 49

Then the future number of points will be (94+2b), and she wants

Simplify this inequality and find the solution

     > 16

    94 + 2b > 12*16 = 192

         2b > 192 - 94

         2b >    98

          b >    98/2 = 49.


ANSWER.  b > 49, which means that in the next six games she must shot at least 50 baskets.
