Let x = the number of hot dogs.

Then the number of bags = 1127-x.


Total money equation is


    6.50x + 4.25(1127-x) = 6034.


From the equation


    x =  = 553.


ANSWER.  553 hot dogs, and the rest items,  1127-553 = 574 are bags of popcorn.


CHECK.  553*6.50 + 574*4.25 = 6034.00 dollars, total.  ! Precisely correct !
