Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+y=-10
xy=24
x=-10-y
so (-10-y)y=24
-10y-y^2=24
y^2+10y+24=0
(y+6)(y+4)=0
y=-6, -4, and those are the two numbers.

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Step 1: You can think about it for a few milliseconds and get -6 and -4.
=================
x+y=-10
xy=24
x=-10-y
so (-10-y)y=24
-10y-y^2=24
y^2+10y+24=0 ----- At this point, you find the 2 numbers mentioned Step 1.
(y+6)(y+4)=0
