Since I cannot make this Venn diagram on here, I'll describe it. A is one circle and B is the other circle. Region I is in circle A, region II is in the intersection of circle A and B, region III is in circle B, and region IV is outside the circles.

(AUB)' is the same as A' U B' , and is the same as A' ∩ B'

(A U B)'  is the same as  (A' ∩ B'),  but is  NOT  the same as  (A' U B').
