well I get: 2x + 16 = 2/5x ??
and I don't know how to solve it. Im stumped. please help me? Thank you.

2x + 16 = (2/5)x

(5/2)(2x + 16) = x

5x + 40 = x

4x = -40

x = -10

Double-check:

Start with -10. Double it to get -20. Add 16 to get -4. -4 is 2/5 of the original number, -10.

10x + 80 = 2x ------- Multiplying by LCD, 5

80 = 2x - 10x
