Question 1128301: Simplify: (4m^3+2m^2-8m+2) + (8m^2-4)
i got 4m^3+10m^2-8m-2
Answer by Quadratic1600(28) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi
I will work through it
So we are adding together to equations/polynomials
4m^3 is the only cubed so we can forget about that for now!
2m^2 + 8m^2 = 10m^2
So far we have 4m^3 + 10m^2
Now we have -8m + 2 -4 so -8m -2
So our equation is 4m^3 + 10m^2 - 8m - 2 / Looks like you are right
Can we simplify further?
I am not sure we can really because all the powers are different and they are all integers so I would say you are right with that answer.
Well done
