Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In a shipment of 750 parts, 75 were found to be defective. What percent of the parts were faulty?
------------------
Percent means "per 100".
So set up a proportion with 100 in the denominator:
75/750 = x/100
Then:
x = 100*75/750
x = 100*(1/10)
x = 10
---------------
Solution : 10% of the parts were faulty.
