Question 111561: i am working equations for combining like terms and using the inverse operations to solve each equation for the variable. pls review this problem and adivse what is the best way to obtain the answer. pls show work.
6x+1+3x=19

Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x+1+3x=19
combine like terms 6x+3x=9x
9x+1=19
subtract 1 from both sides to get the non x's on the right side.
9x=18
divide both sides by 9 so the x stands alone.
x=2
