x^2y + 5 = 17
While I was writing the equation, I decided to myself that x would be equal to 2 and y would be equal to 3. So far, I have:
x^2y + 5 - 5 = 17 - 5
x^2y = 12
x^2y/y = 12/y

This should mean

You already gave yourself your value for x and your value for y.
