Question 11140: 1. 5x + 3 = 23
- 3 -3
then if that is right what do i do when iv done that?

Answer by roxy9229(32)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x + 3 = 23
- 3 -3
5x = 20
divided by
5 5
x=4
after you subtract the 3 from both sides, you divide the 5 from both side because you want to isolate the variable which means get it by itself.
