Let "x" be the amount (in kilograms) of Kenyan coffee to mix.

Then the amount of the Venezuelan coffee is (192-x) kilograms.


The "price" equation is

 = 12.    (1)


Why is it the "price" equation ?

Because the numerator is the cost (in dollars) of combined 192 kilograms.
Divided by 192, it is the price per kilogram.


It is your basic equation.  As soon as you got it, the setup is completed.


To solve the equation (1), multiply both sides by 192. You will get

10x + 13*192 - 13x = 12*192,

-3x = 12*192 - 13*192 = -192  ====>  x =  = 64.


Answer.  64 kilograms of the Kenyan coffee must be mixed with 192-64 = 128 kilograms of the Venezuelan coffee.
