If it's "solve for x":

(X+1)^2 + 36 = 81
(X+1)^2 = 45
x+1 = sqrt(45) = 3sqrt(5)
x = -1 + 3sqrt(5)

And,
x+1 = -sqrt(45) = -3sqrt(5)
x = -1 - 3sqrt(5)
