Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3x-(1/2x-2)= 3
(1/3)x-(1/2)x+2=3 distributing the - sign over the parentheses
(1/3)x-(1/2)x=1, subtracting 2.
(1/3)x=(2/6)x
(1/2)x=(3/6)x
Therefore, we have -(1/6)x=1
multiply both sides by 6
-x=6
x=-6
