Let r be the speed of the current. Then:
100/26+r=80/26-r
2080+80r=2600-100r
180r=520
r=2.89 mph

.
 =  ====>

5*(26-r) = 4*(26+r)  ====>

130 - 5r = 104 + 4r  ====>  130-104 = 4r + 5r  ====>  9r = 26  ====>  r =  miles per hour is the current rate.
