A tank with a base area of 480 square centimeters and height 15 centimeters is 2/3 filled with water.
Find how many cu/cm of water in the tank
480 * 15 * = 4800 cu/cm
Water is flowing from Faucet X into the tank at a rate of 1.5 liters per minute.
change 4800 cu/cm to liters 4800/1000 = 4.8 lt
At the same time, water is drained out from Faucet Y at a rate of 2.1 liters per minute.
How long will it take to empty the tank?
let t = the no. of min to drain 4.8 liters
2.1t - 1.5t = 4.8
.6t = 4.8
t = 4.8/.6
t = 8 minutes
