3/4w-1/2w=1/4w
1/4w+5=9

I'm assuming the original equation is

If that is the case, then yes it leads to ; however, the answer is not

Instead the answer is because you multiply both sides by 4

Notice the '4's on the left side divide and cancel out (since 4/4 = 1)
